Monarch Migration Tour with Bruce Fellman
Come follow the monarchs, explore Napatree, and discover the incredible world of insects along the coast!
Join renowned naturalist, journalist, and teacher Bruce Fellman alongside Napatree Naturalists for a fascinating exploration of one of nature’s most incredible seasonal journeys, the migration of the monarch butterflies!
For decades, Bruce Fellman has documented Rhode Island’s natural world, with a particular passion for insects, wetlands, and the changing environment. Since 1978, his weekly natural history column, A Naturalist’s Journal, has been a beloved fixture in local newspapers.
During this 90-minute guided walk, participants will explore Napatree Point Conservation Area in search of migrating monarchs and other fascinating insects. Learn how to identify these remarkable travelers, discover the challenges they face during migration, and uncover the important role Napatree’s coastal habitat plays in supporting them along their journey.
This program is approximately 90 minutes, allowing participants to take advantage of the free parking available along Bay Street.
Any individual 18 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult.
