About Napatree


The Napatree Point Conservation Area is 86 pristine acres of some of the rarest habitats in Rhode Island. It is owned and managed by the Watch Hill Fire District and the Watch Hill Conservancy. Napatree is a community resource and is open to the public year-round. Napatree Point extends 1.3 miles west into Little Narragansett Bay from Watch Hill, Westerly, RI and has been formally designated a “Globally Important Bird Area” by the National Audubon Society and a Climate Response Demonstration Site by the University of Rhode Island Coastal Institute. It is home to many species of federally and state-listed endangered species, including Piping Plovers, Least Terns, Osprey, and American Oystercatchers.
