Work with a professional advisor to make a gift of a life insurance policy to The Watch Hill Conservancy*
How it works:
Name The Watch Hill Conservancy as both owner and beneficiary of your policy. After your lifetime, The Watch Hill Conservancy will receive the full cash payout. Note that a policy ownership transfer requires you to keep paying premiums during your lifetime to keep the policy active.
Policy ownership transfers are considered donations, and any charitable donations can significantly reduce your taxable estate.
You may also deduct any premiums you pay as part of the donation and even claim a further deduction for some of the policy’s value.
Should you choose to name The Watch Hill Conservancy as a primary or contingent beneficiary, please share your intent to help us plan for the future and fulfill your vision.
The Watch Hill Conservancy receives this gift after your lifetime and applies it to the purpose(s) you specified. Unrestricted charitable gifts are used at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
Your gift is fully deductible for federal estate tax purposes and is typically exempt from state inheritance taxes.*
