The Snowy Owls of Logan Airport – Film Screening & Director Talk Back
UNITED Theatre, Westerly, RI on Sunday, November 2nd at 12:00 PM

The Watch Hill Conservancy presents a special screening of the short documentary film The Snowy Owls of Logan Airport and a post-screening talk-back and Q&A. The screening is free though registration is required.
From the runway to the wild, Norman Smith, a raptor specialist who has worked at Mass Audubon for nearly 60 years, has dedicated his life to protecting and relocating the snowy owls from a most unexpected place, the 1,800 acres of flat, open space known as Logan airport in Boston, MA. Affectionately called “the Owl Man of Logan Airport,” Smith has single-handedly relocated more than 900 snowy owls, creating the blueprint for how airports across the US and Canada can manage wildlife conflict.
Join award-winning photographer and filmmaker Anna Miller as she chronicles the rescue, rehabilitation and release of these magnificent birds and brings light to Norman’s lifelong mission to stimulate a passion in us all to better understand, appreciate and care for the natural world in which we live.
The screening will include a live post-screening Talk Back and Q&A with Norman Smith and film director Anna Miller.
Anna Miller is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker based in Boston, MA. She is particularly interested in collaborating with scientists and conservationists to capture stories about species impacted by climate change and habitat loss.
