DESCRIPTION:Come follow the monarchs\, explore Napatree\, and discover the incredible world of insects along the coast! \n\n\n\n\nJoin renowned naturalist\, journalist\, and teacher Bruce Fellman alongside Napatree Naturalists for a fascinating exploration of one of nature’s most incredible seasonal journeys\, the migration of the monarch butterflies! \nFor decades\, Bruce Fellman has documented Rhode Island’s natural world\, with a particular passion for insects\, wetlands\, and the changing environment. Since 1978\, his weekly natural history column\, A Naturalist’s Journal\, has been a beloved fixture in local newspapers. \nDuring this 90-minute guided walk\, participants will explore Napatree Point Conservation Area in search of migrating monarchs and other fascinating insects. Learn how to identify these remarkable travelers\, discover the challenges they face during migration\, and uncover the important role Napatree’s coastal habitat plays in supporting them along their journey. \nThis program is approximately 90 minutes\, allowing participants to take advantage of the free parking available along Bay Street. \nAny individual 18 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult. \nThe program is weather permitting. In the event of cancellation\, participants will be notified via email. \nFREE PROGRAM offered by The Watch Hill Conservancy. \nREGISTER HERE
